Hey Friends!
Sorry it’s been so long since we’ve posted. Honestly, it gets overwhelming at times trying to keep up on all the different social media outlets. Here’s a quick update on what Kokua has been up to.

In the winter we’ve played a few snow/winter retreats and played at plenty of churches all over CA. It’s been really fun connecting with lots of people of all ages, coming together to worship God through music. We feel so blessed that God allows us to be used to provide the vehicle of music for people to sing out to Him.

One of the longer and dirtier trips we did was the Mexico Mission Trip with First Covenant Church of Sacramento. We had a great time hanging with the First Cov students as they served the local Mexican churches. We also had a great time connecting with some of the local musicians, mixing it up a bit as they joined us to play a few songs in our worship sets.

Another exciting thing that some of us did was a tour called the Fire Pit Tour. Travis Oberg, Daniel La Point, Tyson Motsenbocker, and David Matsumura travel all over CA for 3 weeks playing acoustic concerts in people’s backyards around a fire pit. It was a fun, peaceful way to listen to music from the 4 song writers. We hope to do it again in the future!

So on to now… Kokua will be in the studio next week. We are working with Blake La Grange, attempting to complete the second Kokua album. Hopefully, we will have it ready by summer’s end. Until then, keep loving and seeking God.

We did a Christmas Chapel at Oaks Christian near LA.

This last Sunday, November 14, 2010 we had the great privilege of leading worship for the services at The Rock in San Diego. It was an amazing and humbling experience for us to be able to worship God along with about 12,000 people throughout the day. People sang out to their creator, some people gave their lives to Christ, and we were so blessed to be a part of it all. God is good!

What’s up everyone?!

We are here in Woodland and just had a great night at Anthem Youth Group in Woodland with Cody Cannon and the crew! We’ll be playing again on Sunday morning at Life Pointe Church and then Sunday night at First Covenant Church in Sacramento.

Hey Guys! I hope God is making Himself evident in your life everyday. Something I’ve been learning lately is that I get so busy with the minutiae of my daily routine: surfing, booking gigs, organizing stuff for the band, recording, hanging with friends, making food, and all the other things that fill my day. I’ve been realizing that even doing “ministry” can become a distraction from taking to to connect with the One for why we are even doing our work.

My challenge for you today is that you would take a moment, find a quiet place, clear your mind, and ask God to speak to you. Give yourself to Him, for His glory.

Hi Everyone!

Kokua has been busy playing and leading worship through out CA for the past few weeks…. And we’re still working on the new CD. It’s taking longer than expected due to illness and such… but it will be done in the next few months!!! That’s our plan at least.

Also…
Starting April 7 we will be taking 2 months off to relax, recover, and seek God for direction. We will be back in June… hopefully with a new CD to give you all!!!
